Day Hike To Mirador Las Torres (By Bus Or Car)

One of the most amazing and amazing increases in Chile is Midor Las Torres (“Towers’ view”), and can be done either as a one -day height or as part of W Trek, which takes 4 to 5 days.

If you are visiting Torres del Pine on a budget and want to do this height without a car, the good news is that you can also do this by bus in one day, even if you live in Porto Natalis.

This is what I did, and it was one of the most prominent of my last trip to Patagonia. The height is difficult and takes a full day, but it is fruitful with great views of the three granite towers and turquoise lake.

This travel guide will explain how to do this step by step!

Quick facts*

  • distance: 20 km (12.5 miles)
  • Height earning: 1015 meters (3325 feet)
  • The maximum height: 870 meters (2,860 feet)
  • period: 6 – 10 hours
  • difficulty: difficult

How to get there

First of all, the nearest airport is located to the park in the town of Peno Natalis (PNT), which has daily flights from Santiago and Puerto Mont. You can Shop for flights On skyscanner.

There is also a bus road to Porto Natalis of El CalaFate, on the Argentine side of Patagonia. This is what I did and it was very easy and comfortable. The journey takes 6 hours and you can book it here.

Once you get to Porto Natalis, you can reach the LAS Torres height by car, round or bus. I will explain each of these options below.

• by car

Renting a car is the easiest and most elastic way to reach the height of the towers.

There are many companies that offer car rental in this field, but my personal recommendation is Discovercars.

If it fits your budget, you can even stay directly at the price Las Torres HotelWhich is located directly at the beginning of the corridor!

Otherwise, if you are coming from Purto Natales, it is two hours’ drive to the Torres Del Paine welcome center (map (map here), Where the height will start.

• Through the tour

The tour of the guides is another appropriate option if you do not want to tamper with a rented car or bus, and the prices are very reasonable.

Getyourguide has a one -day tour to the Las Torres base, which includes capturing the hotel and declining from Porto Natalis, and a two -language guide to drive to the towers.

We have used this company for many rounds and activities all over the world, and it is great. Very recommended!

• By bus

The cheapest way to reach the constellations that rise from Porto Natalis is the bus and shuttle.

You can book the bus online hereThe Roundtrip ticket costs 28,000 peso (about $ 30 USD) as of 2025. I recommend reserving your tickets at least a month ago.

The bus station is called Rodoviario Terminal Rodoviario (map here) And a central location in Porto Natalis. I stayed in Budget Friend A close distance from the station.

Bus

Buses look like this

There is a lot of leaving buses every day, but since the height is long, you will need to do early departure and the latest return, and in this way you have time to complete the height and continue your return bus.

The first bus leaves Porto Natalis at 6:45 am, where you arrive in Torres del Pine (Laguna Amaraga) after two hours, at 8:45 am.

I took this bus several times while visiting the garden, and it was always on the specified date, although there are some road construction along the road.

Bus seats inside

Comfortable seats

One of the gentle things about going by bus is that you can relax and allow someone else to deal with driving.

I don’t really enjoy driving in a foreign country, especially if it is early in the morning when I still wake up.

On the bus, you can adjust it and perhaps until you get some sleep while you are on your way to the garden, which is useful at a great height like this.

Laguna Amaraga

Garden office in Laguna Amaraga

Once you get to the Laguna Amarga checkpoint, Rangers from TDP will check your garden tickets as you leave the bus.

I strongly recommend buying tickets online to save time in this step. You can buy it on Official site here.

If you need a minute, the building in Laguna Amarga has clean bathrooms and free WiFi. Here is a map From the site.

TDP welcome center

Welcome Center

Next, you need to pick up a shuttle from Laguna Amaraga to the Torres del Pine welcome center (map here). It is very far from walking.

The shuttle is 15 minutes by car and costs 4,500 peso in cash, starting in 2025. You can’t reserve it in advance, but there is no need because there are regular shutters in each direction.

Once again, there are toilet courses and Wi -Fi at the welcome center, as well as a café, a dining truck and a memorial store.

The welcome center is the place where long walking to the towers begin. Here is Map of alltrails Show the path of full walk.

I got out of the shuttle at the welcome center and started walking at exactly 9 am, and I reached Refugio Childo at 10:30 am, and the lake at 12:30 pm. Perhaps the Teriti was a little higher than the average, but nothing is crazy.

I stayed in the lake for about two hours, resting and taking pictures, before starting around 2:30 pm.

I went back to the corridor and the welcome center after 3 hours, after 5:30 pm.

Another shuttle from the welcome center to Laguna Amaraga at 7 pm, so you do not want to miss it; And the last return bus from Laguna Amarga to Purto Natales is at 8:15 pm, so you don’t want to miss it either.

In total, this plan will mainly give you 10 hours of spare time to walk to the towers and return, assuming that you take the first morning bus and hit the corridor at 9 am as you did, and return to Laguna Amaraga at the last shuttle at 7 pm.

This is very generous. Don’t flow, but it should be 10 hours of time for most people to conveniently complete this height!

Keep in mind that the last bus will return you to Porto Natalis at approximately 10 pm. Yes, it’s time, but you will not be the only tourist to wander, and some restaurants will remain open.

Here is Map of alltrails This shows the path of full walking and the height definition file to raise the essential day in Las Torres, starting with the TDP welcome center.

This is the corridor where the height always begins and ends, regardless of whether you go with a rented car, tour or bus.

If you register Alltrails plusYou can download the map and use it in a non -connection mode while walking. It is very useful!

What do you expect: walking long to Mirador Las Torres

• TrailHead to Chilean haven

The height begins with a flat walk across some of the promoters and exceeds Las Torres HotelWith away views of the mountains in the background. Mostly remain flat like this for about 2.5 km (1.5 miles).

After that, there is a fixed fixed rise for another 2.5 kilometers until it reaches the Windy corridor, the place where you will face the first great views of the height, with a river that cuts the valley and snow -covered mountains on both sides.

After walking across the corridor, you will reach Refugio Childno, where you can rest in one minute. Refugio is overnight with a restaurant, and it also contains WiFi and toilets for a fee.

• Refugio Childo to Lake Towers

From Refugio, you will walk across a forest with a gradual slope for the next 3 kilometers until it reaches the clearing, where the paths of the path are arduous to learn Las Torres.

There is intermittent time to overcome this point, so if you get here after 2 pm, they will not allow you to go to Las Torres. Even if you are late for only 10 minutes, Rangers will manage you, so put it into consideration.

In the summer, the cutting time is easier for 3 pm due to the longest daytime hours.

Rocky Trail

The road is running near the end

This is where the road becomes sharp and rocky. This last kilometer is definitely the most difficult part of the whole height. It is safe, but hard and you have to be keen not to move in any vibrating rocks.

Finally, you will reach Lago Torres, Lake Towers! It is an amazing view, and although it is very busy during the day, there are many wonderful pictures of the lake.

The weather can change here in a second, so don’t encourage you if the towers are covered with clouds when you reach the lake for the first time. This happened to me, but I waited for a moment and the horoscopes came out!

Enjoy a snack resting here after the long climb. The return height is completely flat or slope, so it is much easier!

Can you go independently?

Yes, you can do this height on your own. A guide is not required except during the winter months, from May to September.

Just remember that you need a ticket for the National Garden, which you can buy on Official site here. It is valid for 3 days.

The best time to go

The best time to visit Torres del Pine is during spring (September to November) or autumn (from March to May). Summer is also good, but the tracks are more preoccupied.

I went in early November, and that was very perfect.

The weather was great, and I loved how some snow and ice are still wandering at the base of the horoscopes. It looked very nice to pictures.

What do you bring?

  • Layers. The weather cannot be predicted in Patagonia, and it can be very stormy, so you will want to bring a jacket, gloves, and a hat in cold. You may not need this to most of the corridor, but you will be happy to be in the lake if the wind is picking.
  • Snacks. Although you can buy food at the welcome or Refugio center, it is exaggerated for tourists. It is best to bring your snacks to eat in height. I brought beef jumped and energy bars from the United States and were great.
  • Walking columns. I did not bring it, but it may be useful for your knees to ascend and fall sharp.
  • water. A good amount to carry it is probably 2 liters of water. There are ice flows available near Refugio, but I will use a candidate or purification tablet to be safe.
